20 years history in manufacturing, sales & distributing solar panels and products

Back in 1985, an American company founded a manufacturing plant for thin film solar electricity panels in the North of France; the main goal of this venture was to produce and sell solar electricity panels, which would serve the basic needs of people who do not have access to an electricity grid.

In 1998, the factory was bought by a Dutch investor who invested significant time and money in improving the quality and the lifetime of the products and in a further reduction of the manufacturing costs, mainly by automation. The new name of this venture was Free Energy Europe. In the meantime, more than 250.000 solar electricity panels have been produced and found their way to countries in development, all over the world. Today, Free Energy Europe is one of the major players in the commercial market for Solar Systems.

In July 2006 Free Energy Europe has been acquired by WWE Sustainable Solutions, based in The Hague, The Netherlands.
