Solar battery charging kits

Battery charging on remote areas is a basic need largerly supported by photovoltaic solar energy. Free Energy has developped dedicated kits for this application.

Operating principle

A battery charging solar kit is very often made of a photovoltaic solar panel and some few accessories for connecting the battery to be loaded. Exposed to light, the solar panel immediately generates electricity transferred to the battery.

Setting up

In the most basic configuration, the charger includes an autonomous generator with power depending upon

  • local irradiation where charging process will take place,
  • battery capacity
  • expected recharge time.

In case the battery is included in a device, like in a portable phone, charging system is tuned in order to facilitate setting-up : multiple connectors are used to simultaneously connect several devices ; inverters are also included in the kit for battery charging using a regular 220V AC charger for instance.
